VOTING INFO
ELECTION DAY - Monday November 13, 2000.
Make sure you are on the voters list by visiting the City of Toronto
VOTE 2000 website (http://www.city.toronto.on.ca/vote2000/index.htm)
or by calling (416) 338-1111.
Voter info from above website:
Bring personal identification with you when you come to vote
Whether you are coming to vote or to add your name to the voters' list,
please bring at least one piece of personal identification showing your
name and your address. For example, you can bring your driver's licence,
a tax, water or hydro bill.
Are you on the voters' list?
If you are on the voters' list, you will receive a vote-at-card in the
mail in late October. This card will tell you where to vote on election
day and on some of the advance voting days. If you do not receive a
card, call us at (416) 338-1111 for information on adding your name
to the voters' list.
One City - One Vote
Prior to amalgamation, you may remember being able to vote more than
once if you lived in one former municipality and owned a business in
another. Now you may vote only once, even if you own more than one property.
As a reminder of this, when you go to vote you will be asked "Have you
voted yet in this election?"
Vote early - You do not need a reason to vote early!
There are 18 days of advance
voting throughout your community for your convenience. You will
receive a tabloid in the mail in late September telling you more about
the advance voting opportunities, or call us at (416) 338-1111. You
can also visit "Where
do I vote" after October 13, 2000 for a complete list of your voting
locations.
